Crownless is one of the Tactical Holograms available in Wuthering Waves version 1.1. Defeat the boss to get First-Clear Rewards, including Astrite, Crownless, Data Set, Premium Sealed Tube, and Shell Credit.
Where to Find Tactical Hologram: Crownless
You can find Tactical Hologram: Crownless northeast of Loong’s Crest in Mt. Firmament. It is isolated on its own small island.
Different Difficulty Leads to Different Movesets
As with other Tactical Holograms, Crownless has six difficulty levels, each one raising the level of the boss and his aggressiveness, expanding the pool of available moves and modifying some of them with additional effects.
Check here for the Special Mechanisms
Contrary to the Holograms released before him, Crownless has the following special mechanism active on all difficulties:
[Zealous] Successful Dodge Counter increases the Resonator’s Critical Hit Damage by 15% for 15s, stacking up to 4 times.
Additionally, from Difficulty IV onwards an additional special mechanism takes effect:
[Vehement] Dodge Counter deals 100% more damage and reduces the enemy’s Vibration Strength by an additional 5%.
Preparation Before the Battle
Choose the Right Attribute and Weapon
Crownless has increased RES to Havoc DMG. Avoid bringing Havoc characters for the damage dealing roles in your team.
With the encounter favouring dodging instead of parrying and some of Crownless’ melee attacks being lightning fast, quick weapon types like pistols and amplifiers can be used to abuse the boss’ openings from just outside his attack range. Alternatively, if you can manage the increased melee pressure, swords can also be used to great effect.
Craft Potions and Cook Dishes Beforehand
For an extra edge during the fight, you may opt to consume food and medicine, granting you increased character stats and healing or reviving them as needed. Remember: they’re a resource to be used and there is no shame in doing so.
Some of the recommended consumables include:

Crownless Skill Set
Note: This guide is based on Difficulty 4 Level 70. Please refer to the Special Mechanism above for Difficulty 5 and above. Not all skill sets will be added here, mostly the notable ones only.
Have you ever matched against someone in a fighting game who has no issues with playing dirty? Yeah, it’s kinda like that.
Intro Jumpscare
At the very start of the fight, Crownless leaps into the air and immediately dives back down for a slam attack. It’s pretty rude, but it’s also something that happens every time you start the fight, so it’s worth it to get the dodge timing down for an early dodge counter. And also you know, to not get hit. That thing hurts. Everything this guy does hurts, really.
Phase 1
Fancy Footwork
Despite how it is when you fight his normal open world variant, Crownless in the Hologram drops its spear and opts to smack you in a more personal manner for the first phase of the fight.
In this state, it’s quite mobile, being able to blink and dash to reposition for attacks. Stay on your toes.
It Fires Lasers
Crownless can also fire a laser at you, which might catch you off guard if you’re not looking for the charge-up animation or the glowing circle it produces in the process. It can do this as a standalone attack, or as part of an attack chain.
Attack Combos
Crownless’s attacks in phase 1 can often chain together into surprisingly long combos. Be prepared to dodge quite a lot and sneak in counterattacks when possible to keep up your DPS.
These attack chains can also come in different lengths, as shown by its uppercut attack:
Sometimes it’ll follow it up with a ground pound attack (shown above), but sometimes it also won’t. It’s best to stay on your guard for this possible extension.
It’s worth noting that the ground pound attack has a surprisingly tall area of effect, so try not to get caught out against it.
Phase 2
Transition
Once you shwack Crownless to under 70% of its health, it downs for three seconds, letting you freely hit it. After this period ends, it decides that maybe throwing away its spear was a bad idea and gets another one. It marks this transition with one of its spear combos. Some of these combos will be a Hologram-exclusive, but you’ll still see the classic attack combo that should be pretty familiar if you’ve farmed the open world Crownless a couple of times.
The new Hologram combos are quite threatening, having a lot of very fast attacks with little to no time between them. Some of these attacks will provide parry windows, but player beware - successfully landing a parry will result in Crownless immediately attempting to counterattack, requiring you to dodge or parry again. Expect to get beaten around quite a bit while learning to handle these attack sequences.
Bashing and Dashing
Crownless has dropped the baby gloves and no longer has any reservations about abusing its mobility as well as its newly increased range, poking and prodding with extended strikes and dashing towards you if it ends up too far away. It might look silly swinging its spear around from that far away, but don’t get too cocky or you might be surprised at just how far it reaches.
One more thing to keep in mind:
Crownless will occasionally also chuck a handful of Havoc-flavoured pocket sand at you - yes, they’re probably daggers, but it’s funnier to think of it this way. It’s obviously in your best interest to not get hit by them, but they can more importantly be used as a cheap way to sneak in an extra Dodge Counter.
