Overview
Jiyan is a limited 5★ melee Aero character who performs best as a main damage dealer. He performs best as a main-dps who wants to stay on-field during his Resonance Liberation. When Jiyan uses Resonance Liberation, he enters Qingloong Mode and changes all of his attack strings to Lance of Qingloong. To maximize his damage, you will want to focus on buffing Heavy ATK DMG, as the majority of his damage scales with it.
Jiyan’s Forte bar can be filled by performing Basic Attacks and Intro Skills. Once the bar has been filled halfway, his Resonance Skill receives a 20% DMG boost and Resonance Liberation now deals an additional instance of damage, and can be cast while in mid-air. Rotating to Jiyan via his Intro Skill is vital to ensure that he receives buffs AND starts the rotation with at least half of his Forte bar. Note that the bar will be consumed if you cast Resoance Skill.
Rotations
Rotation should always be taken with a grain of salt. Enemies are NOT sandbags and WILL ATTACK YOU. Several factors such as Parries, Dodge Counters, and being knocked back will affect how you approach the rest of your rotation.
If you have low Energy Regen (15-20%), you WILL HAVE to Skill Swap Jiyan’s Resonance Skill often to have ult every rotation.

Jiyan Combo
• Echo (Skill Swap) • Intro to Jiyan • Resonance Liberation • Heavy Attack (Cancel with Resonance Skill • Resonance Skill • Heavy attack 1-3 • Heavy attack 1-3 • Resonance Skill • Outro |
Sample Team Rotation with Mortefi and Verina
• Intro to Mortefi • Mortefi: Skill • Mortefi: Skill: Fury Fugue • Mortefi: Basic 1-4 • Mortefi: Skill: Fury Fugue • Swap to Jiyan • Jiyan: Skill • Swap to Verina • Verina: Skill (Cancel with Bell) • Verina: Bell-Borne Geochelone (Cancel with jump mid air attacks) • Verina: build up energy for outro • Intro to Jiyan • Jiyan: Skill • Jiyan: Echo (Skill swap to Mortefi) • Mortefi: Ultimate • Echo (Impermanence Heron Swap Cancel) • Intro to Jiyan • Jiyan: Resonance Liberation • Perform Jiyan’s combo |
This rotation prioritizes fitting Jiyan’s Skill in between support rotations to generate energy. If you have enough Energy Regen you can skip this process entirely.
Parry Windows
Disclaimer: This is a work-in-progress section and will be updated as we learn more.
Suprisingly, Jiyan has one of the most diverse movesets and has several parry opportunities on his Basic, Heavy, and Plunge attacks. Unfortunately, none of these are practical as Jiyan should only be on-field using Resonance Skill or Liberation. |
After using Jiyan’s Resonance Liberation, his Basic attack chains change to a 3 part Heavy attack. These attacks essentially auto-parry anything in their way. |
As with most characters, Jiyan can also parry with switch-ins and Intro Skills. |

- Resonance Liberation

Jiyan’s Resonance Liberation and Forte should be prioritized as it is the bulk of his damage. Basic Attack can be left at level 1, as it should never be used in an actual rotation.
Weapons
To no one’s surprise, Jiyan’s best weapon is his signature Verdant Summit. It provides a hefty 49% Heavy ATK DMG boostand a universal Resonance DMG bonus. Additionally, it has Crit DMG scaling as its main stat, allowing you to focus on Crit Rate Echoes.
Lustrous Razor is a 5★ standard weapon which beats out all 4★ alternatives. While the Resonance Liberation buffs do not improve Jiyan’s damage, the high base ATK, ATK%, and Energy Regen effects make up for it. Autumntrace at max dupes comes close to Lustrous Razor, but is heavily time-gated.
For 4★ alternatives, we have Helios Cleaver and Broadblade#41 with both being decent options. Note that Broadblade#41 has Energy Regen for its main stat, which hurts Jiyan’s personal damage output.
Both 3★ alternatives perform similarly and lag behind all other 4★ weapons.
Weapon Name | Comparison | Notes |
Verdant Summit | R1: 108.30 | Jiyan’s Signature synergizes perfectly, providing 48% Heavy ATK buffs. To activate this effect, you NEED to enter with an Intro followed by Resonance Liberation. |
Lustrous Razor | R1:100% | Jiyan highly appreciates the Energy Regen and ludicrous ATK scaling. |
Autumntrace | R1: 79.93% | Easy-to-trigger Heavy ATK DMG buffs and Crit Rate scaling. |
Helios Cleaver | R1: 77.06% | Provides a slowly stacking buff that scales terribly with more dupes. |
Broadblade#41 | R1: 69.07% | Assumes you do not lose uptime on its effects. |
Guardian Broadblade | R5: 70.72% | Generic broadblade weapon with a Heavy ATK Bonus. |
Broadblade of Night | R5: 70.24% | Same scaling as Guardian Broadblade worse |
Echoes
Sierra Gale: A generic Aero set for main-dps characters and best-in-slot for a main-dps Jianxin. Its 5pc effect is easy to trigger and benefits her entire kit.
Set Effect | Comparison | Notes |
Sierra Gale 5pc | 100% | A 40% Aero buff is a 40% Aero buff, you can't really go wrong there. |
Lingering Tunes 5pc | 83.42% | Has potentially to be decent as Jiyan spends a decent amount of time on-field. |
Sierra Gale + Lingering Tunes 2pc | 87.82% | This set combination should be treated as a transition set, rather than something to be used in the endgame. |
Active Echo Recommendation
Sierra Gale - Feilian Beringal: Its active Echo effect deals decent damage, can be swap canceled, and still grants its buffs even when swap canceled.
Lingering Tunes - Mech Abomination: The only notable effects this Echo has on Jiyan are its ATK buff and fast animation. Jiyan cannot take full advantage of the damage dealt by this Echo, as it scales with Electro DMG.

You will want around 15% ER minimum and about 30 to 40% if you do not want to skill swap.
